Newfoundland Puppy Laying Down

The Newfoundland is a large breed of dog with a very thick coat. The hair is short and fluffy though. They are typically black in color with areas of white on the belly and around the paws. They grow to a size between 27 and 29 inches tall. Overall weight of an adult ranges from 100 to 150 pounds.

The Newfoundland need lots of shade and will be very uncomfortable in extreme heat. It is very important that they eat well and get daily exercise. This breed is known for heart problems if they are overweight. This is a very intelligent, patient, and calm dog that is a great family pet.
